Topeak QuickClick Saddle Rail Mount
thingiverse
Human: Relatively permanent mount on rear saddle rails for Topeak QuickClick compatible saddle bags. I made two versions: one flat (original design), and one round so you can slide the whole mount along the rails to find the ideal position. I also uploaded the bare Base.sldprt in case anyone wants to customize the 2-bolt plate extrusion. How I Designed This Critical dimensions: Width of big end of the slot: 3.32 mm, width of small end of the slot: 1.78 mm, slot depth: 2.90 mm, scaled these by 115%. Counterbored holes for M5 bolts only half original depth of 4 mm since thickness is critical here to prevent pieces from breaking under compression by bolts used to help locate bolts really but also lets standard 1/4" 5 mm hex bits reach it without hitting rail body first. I decided not to add locating stub on original part almost impossible to see in the image below its between two bolts so you print bunch of these leave them on your bike(s) suffer slightly-more-cumbersome one-time installation saves you from printing more supports. I am aware there are at least 2 variants of mount out there flat styled one shown immediately below round styled one in Compatibility section only own flat styled one used to model part in SW think they both called QuickClick believe may have older version been replaced by round style see further down cant seem find flat style on Topeak website 21 Feb 17 at all. Source style Assembly Instructions The original hardware included x2 M5 x 16 mm bolts you should add x2 M5 locknuts 7.92 mm defining inscribed circle you may need longer bolts depending on saddle rail diameter I would go longer regardless print either FLAT pieces or ROUND pieces youll need base plate locknuts set inside plate wide wing tips up Compatibility Your clip on bag should look like this I am not positive but think bags with style of mount will also work Future angled variations Ive had problems especially with saddles too far forward such that bags need make large bend to fit angle between rails seatpost Updates 24 Feb 17 Just mounted one Almost everything was perfect the first time slot was perfect but wall thickness where clip actually snaps in place was a little too thick used knife to thin it down a little bit I would also recommend manually pushing snapping bit on bag up to further secure it even if you hear click printed both pieces so they didnt need any supports needed longer-than-16 mm bolts exacerbated by orientation there was enough warping that one of hex insets was too big wrapped locknut in electrical tape wound bolt through until it was set in plate tightened fairly tight with no issue.
