Topeak Bicycle Basket Latch

Topeak Bicycle Basket Latch

My wife has a Topeak QuickTrack rack system on her bike. She recently bought a new Topeak basket that works seamlessly with the system, but unfortunately, the geometry of the bike seat and basket poses a problem - she can't slide the basket far enough forward to engage the latch without hitting the back of the seat. My solution was to redesign the latch, giving it some extra space. Here's my revised model, which might be helpful to others in similar situations. I'm currently working on Version 2, which includes a small bump on the tongue that prevents the basket from sliding forward while riding. Additionally, the holes are not big enough for the screws included with the "Fixer 6" adapter from Topeak, so Version 2 will have larger holes. In the meantime, you can drill them out yourself using a 5/32" bit.
