This model of topaz crystals in a seam within volcanic rock from Utah is quite underwhelming, I'm afraid. Trust me when I say the sample itself is truly impressive - those clear and gem-like topaz crystals really shine up close. The issue with this model, unfortunately, lies in its inability to effectively capture transparent crystals using standard photogrammetry techniques. The software tends to depict the surface of these crystals rather than resolving their inner features, which appear distinct from various angles. I'm not convinced that any practical solution exists to overcome this limitation using software that compiles multiple individual photographs together.
