Topaketa (La Rencontre) is a ceramic sculpture of La Rhune built in 2020 behind the Espelette Castle in Pyrenees-Atlantiques, France. It stands at 2.10 m tall. The installation was created to honor the 150th anniversary of Father Armand David's discoveries and identifications (flora and fauna) by a native of Espelette who spent many years in China, specifically in the Sichuan Valley. The Chinese character engraved on the stone means "Friendship." This work is the result of Régis Pochelu, born in 1970 in Hasparren. His workshop is located at Chateau de Garroa in Mendionde, Pyrenees-Atlantiques, France (http://www.regispochelu.com).
