The figural burial-urn style of northern Colombia's lower Magdalena River region is distinguished by its depiction of a seated male figure perched atop a low bench on the urns' lids. Typically, birds are featured alongside the figure as symbolic icons, often adorning the urns' sides. The nude male figure is commonly modeled, although he may occasionally wear a necklace or other body ornamentation.
