This design has been superseded by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1835048\nA remix from an own remix - why that?\nThis is rather a quick hack, with mediocre code quality, rather than a "remix", consider it an early access version.\nThe usefulness of this item is limited, as it is used in conjunction with http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1792366 - as it's sort of specialized, I didn't want to modify the template.\nI slapped on rod mounting brackets, added basements to the holder, and added the rod clamps, and pins to tentatively hold the parts together.\nThe purpose of this thing is to rest the filament spool holder on the two rods which join the Z top brackets, above the print head, where it is positioned such that filament is fed straight into extruder, no force or lots of pulling required.\nThese holders won't fit on a printer without those horizontal rods.\nTwo parts sets are needed for one holder.\nTo improve: square footprint studs for rod clamps, print studs laid out horizontally instead of as towering cylinders, which should make them stronger while easy to print. Or use glue, screws, whatever.\nPost-Printing\nProblems and improvements\n Rather than add-on rod clamps, integrating those into the holder foot, while keeping ease of printing in mind, should be carried out, thereby eliminating the bolts for attaching rod clamps. The padlike feet would then disappear.
