Why is the filament mounted on the control box? Because it's safer and more stable than mounting it on top of the Z bridge. The filament grinds against the frame when mounted this way, causing under-extrusion. This filament guide is optimized for use with the spool on the control box. Mounts using existing holes on the Wanhao i3 V2.1 and probably all recent Maker Select models. The filament hole is beveled outwards to provide a smooth path from all directions. Open source, so feel free to improve it. The original design (fusion360) is included, making improvements easy. Requires 2x M5 bolts with a threaded length of at least 10mm. Longer bolts are possible, but beware of your Z-clearance! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in PETG, and PLA works equally well.
