The Creality Sermoon D1 is proposed as a "full enclosed" printer, in reality, having the top open, it is not. For this reason, wanting to print also potentially toxic filaments such as abs and materials that require high and constant temperatures, I have created this cover that adapts perfectly to the printer. The cover, which can be removed or inserted with extreme ease, especially if the rear part is left mounted, is equipped with a thermostat suction system and housing for a Hepa or activated carbon filter. Initially I had thought of making the frame, except the columns, in aluminum, then I thought of printing everything and therefore, having to deal with the dimensions of the printer plate, some components are made up of two pieces that will then be joined together. The filament guide, consisting of a sphere that rotates inside a seat, must be printed in a single solution. All components that have protruding parts (> 50 °) were printed with the aid of supports. The cover was designed with FreeCad v. 1.9, the parts to be printed were processed with Pusa Slicer v. 2.4 and printed with the Sermoon D1 using the strongman PLA filament (PAL plus) produced by Azure Film. Note: if you intend to print filaments that require high fusing temperatures (> 260 ° C) and, above all, high printing plate temperatures (> 70 ° C), keep in mind that it is not enough to make changes to the firmware but that it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to install two mosfets, or at least one for the printing plate, to prevent the control board from catching fire! The project, not beautiful but functional, is released under the creative common license and cannot be used for commercial use.
