This part was designed to combine my previous tool holder design with the OEM spool holder. I recently replaced my hot end and upgraded to a direct drive extruder. Due to the feed direction of the direct drive extruder being vertical it made sense to move my spool holder back to the top rail but I wasn't keen on mounting it directly to the top rail in line with the rail.
