<h3>Motivation</h3><p>I had broken box of toothpicks. Those things are fragile! As you can see, this was quite a mess.</p><figure class="image image-style-align-left image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/237178/rich_content/fbe6c6a9-2363-44c3-84ba-73f366db5422/img_20220701_102703.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%228c097ea6-9b62-47f5-9bb9-70244275b4ca%22%2C%22w%22%3A4000%2C%22h%22%3A3000%7D"></figure><p>So I searched for an alternative but nothing could be found. Then I designed my own. Also the first time, I designed a thread.</p><h3>Printing</h3><p>I used variable layer height so the tall can prints faster and also the transparent red filament looks better.</p><h3>Source Files</h3><p>I did it in Onshape, so no source files but a semi-public link: <a href="https://cad.onshape.com/documents/03de24bd1c5dd050122681f3/w/cfd772325c2a98d35a04014c/e/82c2e5456fb8699d3973fd9f?renderMode=0&amp;uiState=62c5757480267f4ec8e63f26">Toothpick Receptical</a></p><p>You will need an Onshape account to view this but there is a free version.</p><h3>Variants</h3><p>There are actually two variants of the can. A tall one for tooth picks and a small one. I used the small one to experiment with the thread because it prints much faster. I was going to throw all the prints away but it turns out having such a small box does come in handy so I kept the final version.</p>
