When ~30% is used, place the toothpaste end between the pair of tines that are connected to the female part. Roll up the bottom of the toothpaste.  Insert the other part into the hole as in the photo.   This prevents the toothpaste from unraveling.The two parts join in a light press-fit.  Each mating part has 12 sides, so separate the parts before twisting one around the hole centerline.  Twisting may damage the 12 points.
