Toolmakers Clamp
thingiverse
Pretty standard toolmakers clamp is designed for use with 1/4-20 threaded rod featuring 1/4-20 nuts. A 1/8" wide groove must be turned or filed down to about a 1/6" diameter on top jaw threaded rod to accommodate flat plate retaining the rod and preventing it from coming loose. Using a metal lathe works best for cutting the groove, but the threaded rod can be chucked into a drill or drill press and manually filed with little difficulty. A 1/4-20 x 1/2" bolt is needed to attach the flat plate to top jaw. All 1/4-20 nuts must be glued or epoxied into jaws and allowed to dry/set before assembly. Knurled ends also need to be glued or epoxied onto threaded rod ends. Check photos for detailed assembly drawings.
