A simple design for a handle that doesn't tip over the toolbox. Great for transferring sensitive objects.

Note !

This is an addition to the great design:

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/39729-tool-box-parametric

Required tools:

A 3mm drill to open holes in the top cover of the box.

4x M3 bolts x 10mm for holding the handle bases

4x M3 safety nuts

2x M2.5 bolts x 20mm to attach the handle or 2x M3 bolts x 20mm

A 2.5 or 3mm tap (not required)

Also is you choose M3 bolts to attach the handle a 2.5mm drill is highly recommended

Print instructions

0.2 Layer height

3 perimeters

60% infill for the bases

20% infill for the handle

Temperatures according to the material used

PETG is recommended.

Instructions:

Print the toolbox, if you haven't already printed the top cover you can add the holes in fusion 360. The exact dimensions will be included in a photo. Also the design will be shared in case you want to adjust something.

Print one handle and two bases.

After the print is done attach the handle to the two bases.

The orientation of the bases doesn't matter.

This can be either done by using a tap to form the threads in the bases.

Use the appropriate tap according to the bolts that will be used, if you will use M3 bolts it's highly recommended to first clean the holes using a 2.5mm drill.

Or by carefully screwing them in the print job. Again if you will use M3 bolts it's highly recommended to first clean the holes using a 2.5mm drill.

Afterwards place the handle in the center of the top cover and mark the holes.

Then drill the holes with the help of a 3mm drill.

Finally attach the handle.

A small advise, if your cover wasn't printed solid its highly recommended to use M3 washers to distribute the forces, otherwise the top cover may crack.
