- Tool Tape Helper A Helper for Wrangling Wide Rolls of Hotbed Tape. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/66-Meters-x-Thickness-0-06mm-High-Temperature-Green-PET-Tape-PCB-Masking-Tape-50mm-100mm/32866816820.html - 50% Surface Area - The Tool Tape Helper Sticks to This Panel Half as Much as Anything Else. Less When Wet. - If You Choose to Wet the Panel Prior to Tape Application, It Will Retain Any Water/Soap Mixture Much Better Than a Flat Surface. Allowing You to Manipulate and Slide the Tape Around Somewhat While Cutting it to Size, and When Applying it to the Hotbed. - The Dry Perimeter Faces of the Panel Are Used to Get a Thin Strip of Full Adhesion Onto the Panel. Making It Easier to Unroll the Tape, but Also Easy to Detach and Reposition as Required. - This Tool Was Designed to Unroll Tape Perpendicular to the Ribs on the Surface. But You May Prefer to Unroll it Parallel to the Ribs Due to the Subtle Difference in Handling When Wet, or to Make Use of the Flat Strips for an Extra Sticking Surface. - Suggested Process: - Spray a Mixture of Soap or Detergent and Water Onto the Grooved Surface of This Plate. Wipe the Leading Edge of the Plate Dry and Stick it Across the Width of the Header of Tape. - Pull the Tape Almost 90 Degrees and Parallel to the Grooved Bed, Roll Out Enough to Cover the Plate, and Cut. This Should Be a Minimum of 205mm of Tape Length, More if You Allow Extra Overlap at the Start/End. - The Plate Does Not Need to be Wet Prior to Tape Application, It Will Only Stick Moderately in Either Case. Wetting it First May or May Not be Your Preference. - Apply Adhesive Film to a Flat Surface by Wetting it and the Bed with the Detergent/Soap Solution... Applying the Wet Tape Square... Then After Positioning Use a Soft Adhesive Towel/Napkin to Progressively Squeeze the Moisture to the Edges Where It is Soaked Up by the Towel/Napkin. - Once the Tape Stops Being Easy to Accidentally Move Around and is Correctly Positioned: Heat the Bed and Repeat the Outward/Towel Napkin Swiping to Get All Bubbles Out Over the Next 15 Minutes or So... You Know, the Usual Way. - Works for Me: - PLA - 0.4mm Nozzle - 0.2mm (or Whatever) Layers - 10% Triangles Infill - 0.8mm Walls/Floor - 1mm Ceiling - 0.4mm External Perimeters Specified in Your Slicer. Make Sure the Slicer Preview Shows a Ribbed Top Surface... If Not You May Need to Figure Out How to Force Your Slicer to Recognize Thin Walls and NOT Just Print Them as a Continuous Flat Surface.
