Tool Carousel With Empty Filament Roll

Tool Carousel With Empty Filament Roll

What to do with empty filament rolls? I created this rotating tool-carousel. By the way, I wonder why most of these rolls are made of plastic and not cardboard, wasting resources. I used an empty Formfutura roll with an inner diameter of about 53mm. For the stand, I designed two versions; one is thinner, but untested. There's also storage for bits and other small parts. Drill holes in the roll as needed, different diameters above and below. You'll need a ball bearing 608ZZ, an M8 threaded rod, nuts (secure), and washers. In the under part, you can press-in two bearings, but one is sufficient. Another idea is to hang it, eliminating the stand but requiring something like a shelf board next to your workspace, where you can drill a hole for the rod. See the photos for better understanding.
