Tool Caddy (Large) | Tool Box
thingiverse
I designed my own toolbox when I couldn't find one that met my needs. This large tool caddy can be printed in parts and assembled with a few screws. Once assembled, thin-wall tubes insert into the main body, saving on infill and support. In fact, this print requires no supports, and it needs few retractions. The thin wall tubes keep tools upright, allow for large tools like wire strippers, and provide containment for small tools such as small combination wrenches or allen keys. The tool caddy also has interior tabs for hot glue or model glue. I used 4mm screws to attach the handle and 3/8 machine screws (or you can use 3mm screws) to hold the box together. The thin wall tubes fit tightly, which is good; test one before printing all eight. The tabs have a .2mm clearance so everything fits snugly. The long handle extends beyond most tools, and the center post distributes weight from the handle to the center of the box. I corrected the middle tabs.
