Tony Stark's Arc Reactor
thingiverse
Here's a simple, two-part arc reactor design that works as an under-the-shirt Halloween costume. The reactor clearly shows through a black thermal shirt, and its visibility improves significantly as darkness falls. To build this DIY project, you'll need the following components: 1. A 6V battery pack containing four AA batteries 2. Twenty-four LEDs 3. Four bolts with a diameter of 3x8mm (alternative adhesives such as glue or tape can be used) 4. A strap cut from an old road bike tire (an ideal option) 5. Tony Stark-inspired facial hair To create the battery pack pocket, follow these steps: 1. Connect all LEDs in pairs, making sure each LED receives 3V of power. 2. Press the LED leads into the front part of the arc reactor, ensuring they are securely attached. Note: If some LEDs fit too snugly, sanding the edges can help ease the installation process. 3. Attach a long wire to connect to the pocket compartment. 4. Assemble and secure the back part of the arc reactor, then attach the strap. While an added switch is not necessary for this setup, it would provide additional functionality. I found it practical to wear the costume diagonally, preventing any movement up or down.
