TONuino Case
thingiverse
With inspiration from all the cases already presented, I wanted to create my own with the following goals: a minimalist design, simple assembly and disassembly, and ease of printing. This is the first result. I'm still working on tweaking some details, so feel free to add your comments to remix it to your liking. Everything prints without supports when printed with the correct orientation (you have to rotate it), and is optimized for layer heights of 0.2 mm and a line width of 0.45 for inner and outer perimeters. I printed the Case in PLA, and the support in PETG. Everything in PETG might be smarter though. The case consists of four parts: - The front: most of the hardware is mounted here. - The back - only the on/off switch and the USB charging extension are mounted here. - PCBA support: To easily snap in the RFID PCBA, it's mounted on this support. - Speaker grill: Self-explanatory! All parts print without supports. For the hardware, please check the official project site. I used the PCBA available from the creator to make assembly even easier. The slide-in mount on the bottom only works when using this PCBA. I designed everything with the following hardware in mind: M4 screws and nuts for the speaker and the grill. M4 or M5 screws to secure the two housing parts (https://amzn.to/2XjiBdM). M3 screws to mount the RFID PCBA to the support (the screws tap directly into the print). Speaker: https://amzn.to/349kr3t Powerbank: https://amzn.to/37t7dR2 Buttons: https://amzn.to/349qUv3 Power switch with LED: https://amzn.to/37nYdNj USB charging extension: https://amzn.to/35mGUtT Recommended: Brass Inserts (https://amzn.to/33WWYlM) I added several variants of the grill. Choose the one with your preferred appearance. The flat ones can be printed with 0.2 mm layers. For the standard ones, I recommend smaller layers to show less layer steps along the curvature. UPDATES: 2019-11-25: *_solidwall.stl added. The standard variant comes with a wall thickness of 1.8 mm. A perfectly dialed-in printer will print this as two touching but not fused walls which might make the case more flexible and impact-resistant. The solidwall variant has 1.67 mm wall thickness, exactly the thickness your slicer will slice four times at 0.45 mm lines at 0.2 layer height to. This should slice as a solid four-perimeter wall. I haven't tested them in direct comparison yet, so please choose for yourself. 2019-11-19: The initially uploaded curved Grills were broken. Please make sure you print v1.1.
