Traditionally, cognac was exported in oak barrels, but by the 18th century, some clients requested it be delivered in bottles. From that time on, the barrels were no longer used for transportation, but only for storing the spirit before bottling. Dating back to the third quarter of the 19th century, this oak barrel has ash wood rings bound with willow. Object inv. #961.15.3 from the collections of the Musee des Arts du Cognac (Cognac, Charente). 3D digitization: scanned by Eva - Artec3D
