I bought a low-cost used RC car just to figure out why it was so affordable: the broken drive axle had been "fixed" with some globs of melted plastic. At first, I simply wanted to verify my measurements - so I printed the axle in PLA. Since it fit perfectly after heat treatment, I decided to test it and, to date, it has not broken. Most likely, I will reprint it in PET if it ever shows any signs of weakness.
