Tongue-ed Snake

Tongue-ed Snake

#Tinkercharacters This mechanical snake achieves its slithering motion through the clever combination of cyclic hinges and a gear-and-rack mechanism, working in tandem with a first-class lever to propel its tongue forward. When "cracking" the hinges into place, it's essential to exercise caution. I've found that using a clamp to gently squeeze them yields the best results, although fingers can also do the trick. Using two pliers, however, tends to cause the hinges to break off prematurely. This intricate mechanical marvel was crafted entirely within Tinkercad, a powerful 3D modeling platform.
