Tonearm lifter

Tonearm lifter

thingiverse

This is a straightforward design for fully automatic record players. I created it because I constantly forgot that my needle was stuck in the end grooves of the record. I wanted the needle to lift off when the record finished playing. The design needs refinement - it's too sensitive and doesn't always get triggered, but isn't sensitive enough to respond to gentle touch from the tonearm. Also, it lifts the arm higher than needed, making a lid impossible at present. When activated, it tends to give a slight kick. To assemble this lifter, print both components flat. Attach a rubber band to the end of the lifter and the bottom cylinder. Then, secure it with glue or blutak in the desired spot on your turntable where you want the tonearm lifted. To set it, gently pull the lifter down and forward onto the small lip.
