TomTom XL Cradle for Toyota Hilux Cup Holder

After salvaging a TomTom XL with its USB SMD socket torn away, I had to devise a straightforward attachment device for my Toyota Hilux. To achieve this, I created a three-piece assembly that integrates a ball/socket mechanism, allowing effortless rotation of the TomTom unit and the cupholder clip, which enables smooth sliding of the cradle along the edge of the cup holder. Eight precision-engineered pins on the holding frame secure the GPS device with incredible stability, preventing any unnecessary movement. A jubilee clamp has been incorporated to add an extra layer of tension to the ball/socket mechanism, thus distributing the stress forces and mitigating the risk of premature failure in the 3D plastic components. The verdict remains to be seen - only time will tell how many kilometers this clever solution endures.
