Tommy's robot head - RC
thingiverse
Tommy is a personal robot project that has been one of my hobbies for several years now. By the time I finish working on it, Tommy will be about ten years old. The current version of the head can be controlled with a remote control: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3479785 The head can move its eyes, turn its neck and fold up. This is the first version of the head that doesn't have a microphone, camera or speaker or gyroscope. This version is intended only to give Tommy a personality. The internal structure was designed with the ability to add other equipment without changing this current version. The next step will be to determine different expressions for the mouth, eyes and head movements by associating them with different emotions. This step will be essential in the future to make Tommy appear intelligent. This global project aims to explore various technologies and techniques: voice recognition, voice synthesis, machine learning, deep learning, visual recognition ... Ultimately, Tommy will have multiple computers that will work independently but also interact collectively to achieve consistent behavior. The control program and assembly plans will follow shortly and evolve gradually.
