Tommy Bahama Solar Path Light Mounting Post
thingiverse
I have a bunch of the Tommy Bahama solar path lights (sold at Costco and other retailers over the last few years) as seen in the pics I've included. They come with the light unit, a mounting post and a stake for the ground. The original mounting post has screw holes in the bottom and the stake is separate so I used the posts to mount the lights to my deck. The original posts are relatively thin plastic so some got destroyed when the wind blew my deck furniture off the deck, sweeping the lights with them (it gets windy in Hawaii!). So I created this one to replace the ones I lost.It is a much simpler design but also sturdier and a bit shorter. There's no allowance for a stake but I'm working on creating one of those as well based on this model. This one has 4 2mm holes in the base to be used for screws to attach it to whatever you like. Only a couple screws are really needed but I figured several screw location options was a good idea. This only works (as far as I know) with the Tommy Bahama path lights pictured. It might work with other TB units or other makers but I have no idea. I do recommend printing with 3 walls and 20-30% infill for strength but it's up to you. I printed mine on my coarsest layer setting (0.6mm) for speed but any layer height is fine. After all, it is hidden inside the light unit so what it looks like is pretty irrelevant. Printed and tested on my Kobra Max using Cura as the slicer and several are holding lights on my deck right now so it should be no trouble printing.I'm working on a version with a post hole added for those that want to replace units that are staked in the ground.
