Tommy Bahama Beach Chair Bracket Repair/Redesign
prusaprinters

We have a few Tommy Bahama Beach chairs and after many years the plastic part that connects the chair frame and allow for the chair to fold broke at the main junction.

The challenge was to create an ASA 3D printable part that can take the weight of an adult person without loosing the folding functionality.

Also, the new re-design eliminated the issue we had closing the chairs. Parts available for both sides.

Materials used:

2 x 10-32 1-1/2" SHCS

2 x Blind-T Nut 10-32

Original main bolt and nut.

Any FDM material can be used but I will recommend ASA and ABS for higher resistance to temperatures and UV. A good alternative, if you do not have an enclosure for your printer (required for ASA and ABS printing) to use PETG.

Enjoy!
