After the untimely death of his wife, Jean Lazare Weiller, who would become a renowned industrialist in the early 20th century, asks Raoul Verlet, Angoumoisin sculptor, to create the tomb of his young wife. This mold is the only known maquette currently made for this tomb evoking the conjugal bed and the happiness of reunions after death. This plaster model with a wooden and iron armature, initially worked out in details, was created between 1883 and 1884 by sculptor Raoul Verlet (Angoulême 1857- Cannes 1923). Its mode and acquisition dates are unknown. It was probably given to the museum by Mr. Lazare Weiller at the end of the 19th century. Inv. # : 926.216 from the collections of the Angoulême Museum (16 - France). See the file in our online database. 3D scanning: Eva scanner - Artec3D
