Tomb of Unknown Soldier
thingiverse
A precise replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery was crafted specifically for Memorial Day 2015. Ensuring that the lettering on the engraving remains clear necessitates printing at a relatively large size, particularly if support structures are not utilized. To facilitate easy readability and accurately capture the essence of the original white marble monument, I opted to print my model at 140% without supports, then meticulously applied a coat of white spray paint. The figures embedded in the design effectively convey Peace, Victory, and Valor. The poignant inscription on the engraving itself reads, "Here rests in honored glory an American soldier known but to God." Throughout the process, I carefully rectified any discrepancies in alignment that had arisen.
