This grave was crafted by renowned sculptor Teixeira Lopes as a final resting place for celebrated writer Almeida Garrett, but due to creative differences between the artist and the author's family, it was ultimately left unused and now resides at Garrett's House-Museum in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal during the 20th century.
