The Dauytuly Shyngysbai kazhy mosque or the Zhami mosque is the spiritual heritage of the city and one of its oldest fundamental buildings, built in the middle of the 19th century. It is located in the old part of Shymkent city. In the first half of the twentieth century, from the time of the formation of Soviet power and until the end of World War II, the building of the mosque was used as a military barracks. In 1947, the mosque was handed over for the use of the people and was named Koshkar ata. From 1947 to 1997, the mosque was considered the central regional one. In 2000, the old name Koshkar Ata was changed to the modern one. The total area of ​​the mosque is 717.3 square meters. There are two minarets in the courtyard of the mosque, the height of which is 4.8 meters and 10 meters.
