Tomb
thingiverse
This model was designed specifically for a Halloween project, requiring more glue than my other models typically need. I plan to refine the inset fences so they fit better inside the arches in future projects, as they currently need additional support to stay in place. Printer Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm height Infill: 20% Notes: The roof must be printed vertically, and I believe the detail level is sufficient. Post-Printing Glue four of the walls together, taking advantage of their notched design for easy alignment. I used Gorilla Glue two-part epoxy to secure them in place. Once fixed together, these walls are held firmly by the elevated square on the base piece. After printing the roof, also print the roof insert and glue it onto the bottom of the roof so that it fits snugly onto the four wall pieces. I used epoxy putty (milliput) to secure the gates in place, but I plan to modify the model so that they can tension hold themselves in place. Changes are forthcoming. In terms of paint, I used a black primer (Rust-Oleum matte) followed by a base coat of mid-tone grey. Then, I applied progressively brighter shades of moss green to various areas of the model (using an airbrush, but a brush could also be used). Next, I painted Army Painter's Strong Tone ink into corners and crevices, and added some mottled detail to open areas of stone. Finally, I did highlights on outside edges in a very light green.
