As a student at the prestigious Digital Arts and Entertainment school in Kortrijk, I had the opportunity to dive into the world of Game Art by completing the PBR tomahawk project as part of the Game Art Pipeline course. To bring this digital masterpiece to life, I leveraged an array of powerful tools that are staples in the industry. To create the intricate details and textures that make up the tomahawk's design, I relied on 3DS Max - a heavyweight when it comes to 3D modeling and rendering software. With its intuitive interface and robust feature set, 3DS Max allowed me to craft every aspect of the tomahawk with precision. Next, I turned to Photoshop CC 2017 to add a layer of depth and realism to my creation. This industry-standard image editing software enabled me to meticulously texture and detail the tomahawk's surface, imbuing it with a sense of authenticity that's essential in game art. Finally, I utilized xNormal - a high-performance normal mapping tool that's widely used in the gaming community. By harnessing its capabilities, I was able to add subtle nuances and shading to the tomahawk's geometry, further enhancing its visual appeal.
