At the Coney Island Scan-A-Rama booth during Danbury Makerfaire on June 8, 2013, my new scanning rig- the Scan-O-Tron 3000- was unveiled using ReconstructMe and an Xbox Kinect. The scans were stunning, leading to a planned Kickstarter for Scan-A-Rama with open-sourced plans. Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is a modern amusement park portrait studio that incorporates 3D printing technology and will be appearing at MakerFaires and in Coney Island throughout 2013. For more information or to order prints, visit http://www.thegreatfredini.com/scan-a-rama. Printing recommendations include .27 or .1 mm layer height with no support, although minor trimming may be required.
