Tolerance cube (torture test)

This block serves as a crucial test for your printer's precision. Measuring 1 inch by 1 inch by 1 inch, it includes a central hole that measures .5 inches by .5 inches by .5 inches. The purpose of this design is to gauge the tolerance of your printer after printing and measuring the cube, specifically the hole, which will reveal the printer's precision level. This information is vital for designing components that fit together seamlessly. If you fail to consider tolerance, the parts may not align properly. To achieve accurate results, print this block at a resolution between 5-10% or higher if you're willing to consume extra plastic resources without necessity. However, 10% should suffice for testing purposes. Due to its flat base, you won't need a raft to ensure good adhesion to the bed. Moreover, as long as the hole faces upwards, you can avoid supports altogether since there are no overhanging features. Once printed, refrain from sanding the block, as doing so would render the test ineffective by obscuring the precise tolerance measurements. Instead, simply measure the cube on all sides and note any excess material present.
