Tokyo Revengers is a manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui, published in Kōdansha's weekly Shōnen Magazine since March 2017. An anime series adaptation produced by Liden Films was released on April 10, 2021. The story is inspired by the author's own life, which belonged to a royal gang called Black Emperor, which also used the kanji 卍 as its logo. The author himself says that his work is about time travel since he does not know how gangs work today, and prefers to talk about those of the early two thousand years.
