Tokarev SVT 40 1/6 Model The SVT 40 is a Soviet Semi-Automatic Rifle designed by Fedor Tokarev in the early 1930s. Tokarev's design was accepted for production in 1938, and the first model produced was the Svt 38. In 1939-1940, the Svt 38 saw action in the Winter War with Finland. The Svt 38 design underwent improvements in 1940 based on Soviet troops' reactions during the Winter War. The rifle was subsequently renamed the Svt 40 and continued to be produced until 1948 for military use and into the 1990s for civilian hunting purposes. The SVT 40 saw action in multiple conflicts, including the Winter War, World War II, the Continuation War, the Korean War, and was employed by a variety of nations, including Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Finland (captured), German Democratic Republic, Georgia, Lithuania, Nazi Germany (captured), North Korea, Hungary, Poland, Romania, USSR, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
