Toilet Seat Lifter
thingiverse
Human: From this day forward, refrain from ever lifting a toilet seat or engaging in any disputes about the matter. Simply press your foot onto the foot pedal and watch as the seat rises, but not all the way up so it doesn't stay that way. Printing time may be a bit lengthy, but the wait is well worth it to never have to lift the seat again. Print Instructions: 1. Print STL files 1 and 2 with no supports at an infill of 80% or higher at 200 microns. 2. Print STL file 3 twice with supports only for the wheel at an infill of 80% or higher at 200 microns. Assembly Instructions: 1. Feed PLA segments through holes to connect foot pedal parts and pulley parts, then super glue to secure the segments. Glue the foot pedal to the floor next to the toilet using a hot glue gun, which works best on linoleum or tile floors. 2. Hot glue pulleys onto the toilet in the area shown in the pictures. 3. Hot glue the seat attachment onto the toilet seat in the area as shown. 4. Tie a thick heavy-duty string, I used polyester, to tie a knot onto the seat attachment and run it through the pulleys to reduce the required lifting force, adding more pulleys as needed to divide the amount of force needed with each new pulley. 5. Tie a knot around a heavy-duty paper clip midsection. 6. Tie the end to the hole in the top of the foot pedal and make it as taut as possible. 7. Twist the paper clip around and around to act as a tensioner, removing as much slack from the line as possible, then scotch tape it into place to hold it secure. 8. Test it out, if it works, super glue the knots so they'll never come undone. If it doesn't work, try redoing the thread before repositioning the foot pedal.
