Toilet Seat Hinge

Toilet Seat Hinge

The hinges of the toilet seat have completely disintegrated, turning brittle and breaking apart, but the seat still looks virtually new from a visual standpoint. From an economic perspective, it's likely not worth investing time or resources to fix it, as purchasing a brand-new seat would only cost between $20 and $30. However, the amount of time spent designing, printing, cleaning, and installing this toilet seat exceeds 15 hours. From an environmental viewpoint, the seat is still in excellent condition, making it possible to reuse it instead of contributing to landfill waste. I printed this seat using PETG material at a slow speed of 50mm/s, with 20mm/s for the first two layers. With a layer height of 0.24mm and an infill rate of 30%, I estimate that the total printing time came out to around 9-10 hours. If printed in ABS or PLA material, my printer's speed would increase significantly, potentially allowing me to complete this project in under six hours.
