COVID-19 March, 2020 This print was designed by Uncone Design to bring awareness to a major public health crisis. Feel free to print and give it to friends and family, but when viewing the design remember: COVID-19 is a serious threat to global health. Currently, there's no cure and viral spread is happening rapidly worldwide. Over 160,000 cases have been confirmed globally, with more than 6,500 deaths and rising. This isn't just another flu (20-40 times higher death rate), we won't have a cure soon (not in the next year), and hospitals are already working near capacity (most emergency departments are at 65%+). Any spike in emergency patients will lead to a sharp increase in deaths. Social distancing is critical over the coming weeks. Please take it seriously, practice social distancing, avoid crowded areas, and don't meet people close up! Those most at risk (age 60+, smokers, lung diseases, heart disease, diabetes, immune-compromised) should stay home unless an emergency. In the USA, there's no reliable detection for the virus due to a severe shortage of test kits. We've only tested around 10,000 people in the US, with over 24% positive results. The high positive rate shows a critical lack of testing kits. The younger crowd has a low mortality rate, but those infected will carry and spread the disease exponentially, leading to a sharp increase in deaths. Most hospitals in America have only a few ICU beds available for patients. If this respiratory outbreak isn't contained, hospitals will quickly run out of equipment to handle new patients, leading to a sharp rise in deaths. Estimated 15-18% of all COVID-19 patients will experience severe respiratory and cardiovascular syndromes requiring hospitalization. With proper care, the death rate is 2-5%, but without available medical capacity or equipment, it will increase to 15-18%. Stop saying this is just a flu; stop saying it's only 2% deadly. For those 60+ in Italy and Iran right now, contracting COVID-19 is essentially a death sentence. This has already happened in Wuhan and is unfolding in Iran and Italy at the moment. Social distancing and societal quarantine are meant to dramatically slow viral spread and save lives. Please be considerate, practice social distancing – this isn't a vacation. Stop hoarding food and supplies unnecessarily; stop going to stand in line at Costco next to 500 people waiting for toilet paper. Think! Together, let's fight COVID-19. /COVID_CLEAN
