I've been using this thing for about a month now and let me tell you, the first version met its untimely demise after only a month of use. I redesigned it with a much larger hexagon guide pin in mind. This time around, the hex is a part of the rod and goes into the handle instead of the other way around. I also made sure to provide a hole that goes all the way through both pieces for a 3.5mm bolt to secure them together, eliminating the need for glue altogether. The bolt should be approximately 50mm long. You might be wondering why the first uploads were just rod.stl and handle.stl while the latest ones are rod_v5.stl and handle_v5.stl. I mean, it's a pretty simple question. What happened to versions one through four? Well, let me tell you, the first version I uploaded was actually version four. I didn't anticipate having to redesign it, so I skipped right over the first three versions. But, my life being what it is, things don't always go according to plan and I end up fixing stuff. Every single thing. It's pretty interesting, if you ask me. I know there are several of these on here already, but I didn't particularly care for the shape of the handles. Plus, I'm a firm believer in re-inventing the wheel from time to time. This design is intended to reuse the through bolt and nut from the original toilet flusher, since it was the rod that broke on mine in the first place. The rod - instead of the handle - slides through the hole and mates with the handle via a snug, hexagonal pin. I used a little SCIGRIP 16 10315 Acrylic Cement to ensure they wouldn't come apart, but it's snug enough that probably wasn't necessary.
