This isn't a direct match for the IMSAI 8080 paddle switch, but it's inspired by its design. This is a tact-type switch that uses a built-in LED to show its status - either on or off. It just occurred to me that if you wanted to make a trinary or octal status switch using this, you could definitely do so with an RGB LED. Whatever you create, I'd love to see the results! I plan on making an OSI300-like toy with it, possibly using a Z80 processor. This paddle is built for a 1/8" pin, allowing you to gang paddles together on the same 1/8" shaft. The paddle itself is simply 3D printed, but I wanted a slim PCB support, so I CNC cut it from 1mm sheet aluminum. There's also a 3D printed bending tool to help with the process. To use it, place the sheet into the slot and capture it through the hole using a pin, then bend the sheet tightly around the block (I used an arbor press).
