Tofu Press
myminifactory
Hi!\r\nI'd always wanted a tofu press, but most are rather pricey, hard to come by, or require constant monitoring to adjust the pressure.\r\nSo I designed one myself, it's easy to print (no supports needed), simple to use, and works fantastically!\r\nIn my tests, I managed to extract 125ml of water from a 340gr block of firm tofu by pressing it overnight in the fridge.\r\nThis press consists of four parts: body, lid, pressing lid, and pressing pole. Each part measures less than 20cm, requiring approximately 250gr of material for all parts combined.\r\nThe body comes with two variations: one with holes for drainage, and a solid version that eliminates the need for an additional container.\r\nThere's also an optional base to elevate the bottom of the body with holes, allowing water to flow even on a flat surface.\r\nThis press uses elastic bands, enabling you to adjust pressure depending on tofu texture by using more or fewer bands, and/or different strengths of elastics.\r\nTo simplify use, place elastic bands on the lid before adding it in place.\r\nAs a final note, before using this design, research food safety guidelines for 3D printing. With proper knowledge, your creations are completely safe to consume.\r\nFor more information on food-safe 3D printing, visit these links: https://formlabs.com/blog/guide-to-food-safe-3d-printing/; https://3dprintergeeks.com/pla-food-safe/; https://www.myminifactory.com/blog/3d-printing-for-food-cooking-deadly-or-safe%3F
