Tofu Press
thingiverse
Hi! I've long been eager to own a tofu press, but most are prohibitively expensive, hard to come by, or require constant monitoring to adjust the pressure. So I took matters into my own hands and designed one from scratch. It's incredibly easy to print (no supports required) and effortless to use, delivering outstanding results! In my tests, I successfully extracted 125ml of water from a 340gr block of firm tofu by pressing it overnight in the fridge using my custom press. The entire device consists of four components: body, lid, pressing lid, and pressing pole - all measuring less than 20cm and requiring just 250gr of material to assemble. The body comes in two variations: 1. With drainage holes for effortless water removal. 2. Solid design, eliminating the need for an additional container. An optional base is also available, raising the bottom of the body with holes and allowing water to flow freely on flat surfaces. This press utilizes elastic bands, enabling you to adjust pressure based on tofu texture by using more or fewer bands and/or varying band strengths. To simplify use, place elastic bands on the lid before securing it in place. As a precautionary note, research food safety guidelines for 3D printing before using this device. With proper knowledge, it's completely safe to use.
