Toddler Resistant Deadbolt Door Lock
thingiverse
This DIY solution replaces the inside part of a deadbolt to keep children from accessing it. The design features a removable "key" fitted with 1/4" cylinder magnets, which can be easily placed out of reach. It works for certain KwikSet deadbolts and is customizable in Sketchup. To install the magnets, ream the holes using a 1/4" drill bit, apply superglue, and push the magnets against a hard surface. The recommended printing settings are 30% infill with 0.25mm layers (0.35mm nozzle), but various configurations may work well too. A cautionary note: the creator labeled his design "Ikey Proof," which might inadvertently challenge his child's curiosity.
