Toberelva Crucifixion Plaque (RO027-029005-)
sketchfab
This crucifixion plaque lies hidden within the Toberelva Church and Graveyard ruins, marked as RO027-029001-. Dedicated to St Eilbha, this site is listed in the Register of Clonmacnoise. A small rectangular holy well stands 30m west of the church, likely originating from the site and townland name (Tobar = Well, Elva = Eilbha).\nThe crucifixion plaque at Toberelva church shows signs of fragmentation with the bottom portion broken away. The overgrown interior of the church prevents a thorough assessment of this fracture's extent. A crucifixion scene and symbols of the passion are visible in the remaining fragment, all executed in relief. Below this scene lies remnants of a coat-of-arms.\nOrla-Peach Power recorded this plaque using an Artec Eva handheld laser scanner. The survey was funded by Roscommon County Council.
