Toa Tuyets Barbed Broadsword

This is my design for Toa Tuyets barbed broadsword. My main concern with this sword was to make is feel believable as an actual bionicle weapon, while also staying true to the fact that it is meant to be a broadsword. In all of gen1 Bionicle, there was only to my recollection 2 truly symmetrical sword pieces released (exclusing the Inika weapons), being Kopaka matas and Jaller Mahris. This meant that i didn't have a great deal of design cues to work from. For example, how would the gen1 part designers have tackled a swords hilt? Neither Kopaka nor Jallers swords had one, so i had to think of it myself. To this end, i found some success in essentially kit-bashing the design elements of other weapons together. The hilt of the sword is based off of Nokama Metrus weapons, while the blade itself is based loosely on Nokama Hordikas. The blade also takes some cues from the blade piece that is used in the Maxilos and Toa Ignika sets. In the end i feel i have managed to create a weapon that just about fits into the design language of official bionicle weapons, however i do struggle to think what year of weapons it is most like. If you don't have a 3D printer, have a 3D printer but can't get it to print smooth, or just feel like wasting £6.50, you can find this design on my Shapeways store.
