Something like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Anvil-500-ft-Fluorescent-Yellow-Braided-Nylon-Mason-s-Line-57476/300960491 You will need to fish the nylon string around the tab and through the hole in the direction youre going to pull in the tab. Then with a screwdriver, youre going to want to push in one side of the tab so its already partly in the hole. Then you're going to want to take the string that you've fished through the hole, wrap it around the screw driver so you have something to grip, step on the sandal and pull the string so it pulls in the rest of the tab. I'm not going to lie, this part was really difficult but its certainly doable.
