TM Shotgun Shell Follower | Airsoft
thingiverse
Last weekend, I had the chance to take a brand new Super 90 spring shotgun from Tokyo Marui out for a spin and was immediately let down when it refused to fire after just a few pumps. After taking a closer look, I discovered that the follower inside the shell was jammed in the middle of its capacity. I completely disassembled the gun and found that the follower was too thin, causing it to turn on itself and sometimes get stuck due to its square base. To fix this issue, I created larger followers that work beautifully - I installed them in four guns and got my shotgun firing smoothly. The only problem is that, due to the design of the shell, 2-3 BBs will never be lifted up, resulting in one less shot per magazine. When it came time to print the new follower, I decided to print it upside down with the round top facing the build plate and using 100% PLA. This made it easy to install without having to completely disassemble the shell or remove any stickers. To put the new follower in place, all you need to do is remove the blocking pin at the base of the shell - be careful, though, as the spring will pop the base off once removed. I'm not sure if this fix will work with other shotgun shell brands.
