I embarked on a project to equip my Tevo Tornado with stepper motors by opening its case and installing them inside. Bizarre things began happening - all my temperature sensors started reading -25C. The motors functioned flawlessly, but printing was impossible. After scouring the internet for TLSmoother Containers, I found several options, yet none of them matched the required size posts. Deciding to start from scratch, I delved into measuring and designing using Fusion 360, a software I'm still learning. This is what I came up with. The kits I purchased are "xlpace TL-Smoother Kit Addon Module Four-Pak For 3D Printer Accessories Motor Drivers 1pc/5pcs." They were sourced from Amazon.ca, but the link to the product has ceased functioning. The inspiration behind this project is https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2735972. After creating these TL-smoothers, I inserted them between the motors and the control box. I severed the wire provided with each smoother in half, using both connectors on the smoother. Then, I cut the four wires connected to each stepper motor and soldered the connectors in-line. Upon plugging everything in, it worked perfectly. The included images showcase a print done prior to installing the smoothers, demonstrating some ringing in the print. Based on my personal experience with the TL-smoothers, they significantly improve performance on my printer. If you have any suggestions for enhancing this design, please share them. I'm already contemplating adding a lid and another pair for the Z, E axes, which I plan to stack - we'll see how it unfolds. UPDATE--- I've added features to the box, including stacking capabilities and a lid. I also incorporated holes for wire passage on each box. Following the submission of pictures, I realized that the cutouts for wires are too small, so I increased the outside walls' height and enlarged the cutouts. This design is now being reprinted.
