TLC Plate Cutter
thingiverse
This TLC plate cutter works quite efficiently and costs approximately $25 for components and plastic. Owing to a print bed measuring only 200X200 mm, several parts need to be bonded together. Specifically, the two Base Plate segments must be connected and the TLC Plate Slider must be attached to the "right" and "left" attachments (See photo). I accomplished this by ensuring the edges were flat, then brushing dichloromethane onto each part to soften and fuse the PLA parts. The two slider guides and the TLC plate slider attachments need to be printed diagonally on the print bed. I purchased the TC-17 replacement cutter from Amazon for $21. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDBE2NG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_uxyZDb6HDQDES I'm not sure how the tolerances on the parts will be for other printers (e.g., the slider to slider guide sizing may be incorrect on a different printer that is more or less accurate than mine). If this is the case, I can provide my Fusion 360 files so you can adapt the design. Work partially supported by National Science Foundation (NSF) grant #1352431.
